our COVID-19 safety measures

Please note that we are unable to offer appointments during lockdowns or when the tier system requires “close contact” business to close, except in circumstances where you would otherwise need to seek medical assistance from the NHS. Please contact us if you feel you fall into this category.

We are delighted to - finally! - be able to reopen now that coronavirus lockdown restrictions have been eased. While Covid-19 remains a risk, we are adapting our treatment procedure to ensure we offer you the service you expect – and deserve – while keeping your safety at the forefront of our minds.

We will be following the latest sector-specific guidelines from the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and Body Control Pilates (BCP).

As part of this process, we need your help! Please take a few minutes to look through the information on this page and familiarise yourself with our new procedures. To jump straight to measures specific to Pilates, click here.

What measures have been taken to protect clientele from COVID-19?

Your safety is our utmost priority. We have:

  • Undertaken a thorough risk assessment

  • Received training from an infection control specialist (see certification here)

  • Protective visors to wear during your treatment

  • Extended time between appointments in order to thoroughly clean and ventilate the treatment room.

You can read more in our COVID-19 policy document here.

Our policies will be regularly reviewed in line with FHT and government guidance.

When will appointments be available?

You will be offered an appointment as quickly as we are able to. In the short-term, we will be contacting those who requested a spot on the waiting list in recent weeks.

Appointments can be booked by phone or by contacting us here.

Our new health and safety measures require us to limit the number of appointments each day. This is because we are building in sufficient time to thoroughly clean the treatment room between appointments.

Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding in this difficult time.

What treatments will be available?

We will be able to offer the majority of our normal range of treatments. However, in accordance with government guidelines, we will not be able to offer:

  • Facial massage / treatments

  • Interferential treatments

How should I prepare for my treatment?

We ask all clients to familiarise themselves with and adhere to current government guidance. The latest information on protecting yourself and others is available here: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus

We also ask you to read our COVID-19 policy ahead of your appointment. Unfortunately we will not be able to carry out your treatment if you do not adhere to the policy.

How else will the appointment be different?

Please text or call us on the morning of your appointment to confirm whether you are able to attend.

Please note you will also need to bring your own face mask if you wish to wear one during your appointment.

  • In order to further reduce risk, please try to shower before leaving for your appointment.

  • When you arrive, you will need to wait in your car / outside of the building until we call to invite you in. .

For additional information on how to prepare, please see our COVID-19 policy.

Our standard Terms and Conditions apply to all appointments, except where specifically superseded by the information laid out in our COVID-19 policy.

Will I be able to have a treatment if I am clinically vulnerable or clinically extremely vulnerable?

If you are clinically extremely vulnerable, unfortunately we cannot offer you an appointment. We will review this policy in accordance with government guidelines.

If you are clinically vulnerable and have any concerns about having a treatment, please discuss your situation with your GP.

Please read this guidance from the NHS to see which category you fall into.

What measures have been taken to protect clientele from COVID-19 during Pilates classes?

In addition to the measures outlined for our treatment procedure, Claire has undertaken a specific risk assessment for Pilates classes and one-to-one sessions. If you would like to read the risk assessment, please get in touch with Claire.

The following measures have been put in place during Pilates sessions:

  • You will need to fill out a pre-class COVID-19 questionnaire within 24 hours of the start time of your class.

  • Classes will be limited to a maximum of 8 participants.

  • The room will be laid out so that each participant has 7 square metres of space. To assist, we ask that you keep all other belongings (bags etc.) as minimal as possible.

  • Individual arrival times will be staggered. Claire will contact you ahead of the class to let you know when to arrive.

  • You are encouraged to bring your own mat and head cushion (please contact Claire if you would like her to order a head cushion on your behalf).

  • For those who do not have their own mat, Claire will continue to provide mats. These will be thoroughly sanitised between uses.

  • The room will be ventilated for 30 minutes prior to the start of class.

  • Hand sanitiser will be provided. Please use this on entrance and exit from the room.

  • All payment will need to be by BACS transfer.

  • Toilet facilities will be unavailable, unless you are desperate.

You are welcome to wear a mask in class if you wish. Unless government guidelines change, Claire will not be wearing a mask while teaching (as at 18/07/2020).

Policies will be regularly reviewed in line with BCP and government guidance.
